How to Renew/Update IEC Online: A Step-by-Step Guide

The Import Export Code (IEC) is a mandatory 10-digit registration number issued by DGFT for businesses involved in international trade. While IEC comes with lifetime validity, the DGFT requires all IEC holders to update/renew their details online every year to keep the code active.

Step-by-Step Process to Renew IEC Online
Step 1: Visit DGFT Website
Go to the official portal → https://dgft.gov.in
Step 2: Login
- Click on “Login”
- Enter User ID (PAN) and password
- Complete OTP verification
Step 3: Go to “IEC Services”
- Select “IEC Profile Management”
- Choose “Update IEC”
Step 4: Update Details
- Check your existing IEC details (business name, address, bank details)
- Make corrections if required
Step 5: Submit and Confirm
- Save the form and proceed
- No government fee is charged for IEC renewal/update
Step 6: Acknowledgement
- Download and save the updated IEC confirmation from DGFT portal
