RCMC stands for Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate. It is issued by Export Promotion Councils (EPCs), Commodity Boards, or FIEO to exporters in India. Having an RCMC is mandatory if you want to avail benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), such as duty exemptions, incentives, or participation in export promotion schemes.

Who Needs RCMC?

  • Exporters of goods or services who want to claim export-related benefits.
  • Businesses registered under DGFT’s Import Export Code (IEC).
  • Traders, manufacturers, and service providers engaged in exports.

Step-by-Step Process to Get RCMC

Step 1: Identify the Right Export Promotion Council (EPC)

  • Choose the EPC/Board relevant to your product or service.
  • Example:
    • Spices Board → for spices exporters
    • FIEO (Federation of Indian Export Organisations) → for multi-product exporters

Step 2: Gather Required Documents

You will need:

  • IEC (Import Export Code) copy
  • PAN Card (Company / Individual)
  • GST Registration Certificate
  • Company Incorporation / Partnership Deed / MSME Certificate
  • Bank Certificate or cancelled cheque
  • Product details and HSN codes

Step 3: Apply Online through DGFT / EPC Website

  1. Visit the DGFT portal (https://www.dgft.gov.in) or the respective EPC website.
  2. Register your business profile.
